In Potsdam haben die Bohrarbeiten für eine zweite Tiefengeothermie-Anlage begonnen. Die Energie und Wasser Potsdam GmbH (EWP) und das GFZ-Helmholtz-Zentrum für Geoforschung starteten gemeinsam mit weiteren Partnern am 13. Juli die Bohrarbeiten am Heizkraftwerk Süd. Bis 2027 sollen mehrere Bohrungen abgeteuft werden.

Bevor sich die Tiefengeothermie-Branche im Oktober im bayerischen Pullach trifft, hat das Praxisforum Tiefengeothermie bereits im Sommer eine Begegnung in NRW ermöglicht: Am 7. Juli 2026 besuchten Vertreterinnen und Vertreter von Stadtwerken, Sponsoren, Ausstellende und Referierende gemeinsam den Bohrplatz der Forschungsbohrung Köln-Dellbrück. Die Exkursion verband fachliche Einblicke in ein laufendes Bohrprojekt mit der Vorausschau auf zentrale Themen des Kongresses im Oktober.

Auch in diesem Jahr wird der Christian-Hecht-Preis für die beste wissenschaftliche Nachwuchsarbeit der Tiefengeothermie (ab 400 Metern Tiefe) im Rahmen des Praxisforums Tiefengeothermie vergeben. Abstracts der Master- oder Doktorarbeiten können bis zum 18. September 2026 unter agentur@enerchange.de eingereicht werden.

Die Schwerpunkte des diesjährigen Programms beim Praxisforum Tiefengeothermie stehen jetzt fest. Der Kongresstag am 15. Oktober 2026 nimmt unter anderem die verbesserten Rahmenbedingungen für die Tiefengeothermie in Deutschland in den Blick. Außerdem gibt es erstmals ein Wärmenetz-Forum in Zusammenarbeit mit dem VKU.
